Search on for 4 Boaters Missing off NJ Coast

Boaters radioed the Coast Guard about their sinking boat 3:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities are searching for a sailboat with four people aboard that said it was sinking off the New Jersey coast.

Coast Guard spokesman Charles Rowe says the 33-foot Courtney Lynn radioed it was taking on water at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Rowe says the vessel reported it was a mile west of the Naval Weapons Station Earle pier in Middletown. Rowe says the operator then said the vessel was a mile east of that location.

Rowe says there's been no sign of the boat or any debris.

Coast Guard, state and local officials are searching from the sea, air and land.
