It happened about 8:30 a.m. in New Castle. Troopers say 51-year-old Kimberly Ogorek of Bear was driving the bus on Cox Neck Road when it veered off the edge of the road, struck a mailbox and a guy wire, and returned to the road.

Police say Ogorek drove the bus to Southern Elementary School and dropped off 30 students. Officers say Ogorek returned the bus to the bus yard.

Troopers say Ogorek told them the accident occurred because she was trying to avoid a raccoon.

State police say some students were treated for minor injuries.
