Report: Cost of Groceries Hinders Phila. Ranking as ‘Foodie' City

Compare Philadelphia with the most populated cities in the United States and the city comes in slightly above the middle of the pack for having the best foodie scenes in the country, but the cost of groceries — higher than the national average — is hindering its status, according to a new report.

WalletHub analyzed and compared 150 of the most populated U.S. cities across 21 key metrics, including cost of groceries, and affordability and accessibility of high-quality restaurants, and found Philadelphia is the 41st best city for foodies.
