Body of Missing Mother Found

The body of a mother who has been missing for over a week has been found in her car at the bottom of a ravine in Brookhaven.

Authorities believe the vehicle may have slipped off the road in bad weather.  Foul play is not suspected.

Ronda Garnett, a mother of 3, called home when she was leaving work at 1:30 a.m. on January 26.  Garnett told her mother over the phone that she was feeling sick, and that she was on the way back to her Chester Township home.  She never arrived.

Garnett was found insider her car late Friday evening at the bottom of a slope near Rt. 352 and Hilltop Drive in Brookhaven.  The medical examiner listed her cause of death as a neck fracture, as result of a vehicular accident.

Police believe that she lost control of her vehicle in the bad weather and drove off the road, down into the ravine.  Subsequent snow covered the car so that it was not immediately visible from the road.

The car was spotted by a passerby on Friday, who called the police to investigate.

Garnett's family now must deal with the tragic loss.

"I believe that God has a plan for all of us," said Linda Garnett, Ronda's mother.

"I'm going to really miss her. But thank God for closure."
