New Jersey authorities say they shattered the window of a car to rescue a woman after her vehicle slid on ice into a pond.
Hawthorne police Lt. James Knepper told The Record that woman was driving a sedan along Arnold Pond in Goffle Brook Park when the vehicle began to slip.
He says a nearby resident called police and the fire department was able to cut a hole in the top of the car to get the driver out. She was taken to a hospital to be treated.
The woman was not identified. Her condition is unknown.
