A South Jersey superintendent is accused of flipping over his township-owned vehicle while allegedly driving under the influence this past weekend.

Medford Township School District Superintendent Joseph J. Del Rossi is charged with DUI.

Del Rossi was driving a 2003 Jeep Liberty on Sagemore Drive near Marlton Parkway around 10:30 p.m. Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle, collided with a lamppost and overturned on the driver’s side, according to Evesham Township Police.

Del Rossi told police he swerved to avoid a deer, cops said.

Upon investigation police arrested Del Rossi on suspicion of DUI, authorities said.
