Man Struck by Trolley

Police say the 63-year-old man is currently in extremely critical condition.

A man is fighting for his life after he was struck by a SEPTA trolley. It happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. on 100 West Girard Avenue.

Police say a 63-year-old man was walking in front of the trolley when he was struck. He was taken to Hahneman Hospital with severe head trauma. Officials say he is listed in extremely critical condition.

SEPTA is providing shuttle buses between Richmond and Westmoreland and 26th and Girard Avenue. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
