Four Philadelphians lost their lives because of the excessive heat in June, according to city officials.
Two deaths were discovered Monday, said Jeff Moran with the city’s Health Department.
A 46-year-old West Oak Lane woman was found dead in her house. There was no air conditioning or fans in the home and the windows were closed.
An 88-year-old Germantown man was also found dead in a house without air conditioning. A fan was on but all the windows were closed.
Earlier this month a 77-year-old Wynnefield man died under similar circumstances. And a 50-year-old man was found dead on a Center City street wearing a three-piece suit.
During hot days people, if you don't have air conditioning, you should try to go some place cool during the day. If you have elderly neighbors or family members, be sure to check on them.
