Great Pumpkins: Pa. Crop Gets Good Reviews

Growers say this year's pumpkin crop in Pennsylvania is coming in well, with good shape, nice color and plenty of weight.

The growing season seems to have struck the right balance by getting enough rain for the vegetables to thrive but not so much as to cause growth problems, according to a report in The Johnstown Tribune-Democrat on Friday.

Penn State Cooperative Extension commercial horticultural expert Tom Ford tells the paper he's fielding reports of an abundant supply and prices that are better than last year's.
