Gas Station Worker Chases Off Robbers with Chair: Cops

Philadelphia Police say an employee of the Haverford Freedom Service Station chased off two robbers with a chair

Philadelphia Police released surveillance video of an armed robbery that happened September 4 at the Haverford Freedom Service Station on the 7000 block of Haverford Avenue.

Authorities say two men walked into the gas station around 5:45 p.m. and demanded money. One of the men pointed a silver revolver at the workers, as you can see on the surveillance video from the store.

An employee gave the man $150. Police say the gunman then demanded "all the money" and hit the employee across his face with his gun.

Police say the worker picked up a metal stool and charged at the two men, who ran out of the store and down an alley.

Investigators hope the surveillance video will help capture the two men. Anyone will information is being asked to call 215-686-TIPS.
