Cinnaminson Man Sexually Assaults Teen Boy: Police

A Cinnaminson man was arrested on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy last month at a township park after contacting him on an internet message board.

Police say that Daniel Smith, 39, met the teen at Wood Park in Cinnaminson on Dec. 1 after Smith replied to the teen’s online post asking for sex.

Police say that after meeting the teen, the two engaged in a sexual encounter in Smith’s pickup truck. When the teen tried to stop the encounter, Smith allegedly forced him to continue the act.

Police then say that Smith and the teen agreed to meet a second time last Friday. After appearing at Wood Park once again, authorities arrived to take Smith into custody.

Smith is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, one count of second-degree attempted sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

He is being held in Burlington County Jail on $200,000 bail with no 10 percent option.
