Catholic HS Principal Fired After School's Audit

The principal of a Catholic high school in western Pennsylvania has been fired after she allegedly admitted violating state law and church policies following an audit of the school's finances.

The attorney for Denise Myers, the former principal of Greensburg Central Catholic High School, did not immediately return a call for comment Friday.

Myers had been suspended with pay since Sept. 23 before the Greensburg diocese announced she had been fired on Thursday from the school about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh.

Although a diocesan statement says Myers "admitted violations of state law and diocesan policy" a diocesan spokesman, Jerry Zufelt says the audit findings have not been turned over to police. Myers has not been charged with any crimes.

The diocese won't describe the audit's findings.
