Girl Escapes Attempted Abduction: Police

Police in South Jersey are trying to find a suspect who tried to nab a child off the street Sunday night.

Camden County Police said the attempted abduction occurred around 6:30 p.m. on the 2600 block of Baird Boulevard in Camden.

Investigators said that a thin man standing about 6-feet tall approached an 11-year-old girl and tried to lure her towards him. The girl ran but the suspect gave chase, according to investigators.

Police said the girl was able to get away unharmed and reported the incident.

The suspect wore a black shirt, white pants with red markings and a black hat at the time of his attack, according to police.
