Bullet Flies Through SUV With Kids Inside

Two teenage boys have been arrested for reckless endangerment after police say they were holding "target practice" in a nearby backyard

A mother was driving an SUV with her three kids inside on Route 73 in New Hanover Township, Montgomery County on Tuesday when a stray bullet came flying through her back window.

The mother told NBC10 the bullet came within inches of her 10-year-old daughter. "The next thing I heard was a loud pop and glass pouring into my car and my children screaming,” said the mother who didn't want to be identified.

The bullet shattered the back window but no one was hurt.

Police say two teenage boys were holding "target practice" in a nearby backyard. Chris Malinowski and Mike Glazewksi, who are both 18, have been charged with reckless endangerment among other charges.

The father of one of the suspects talked to NBC10 and says he's very concerned about what happened. "All I know is they were target shooting and a bullet went astray and struck a vehicle," said Dave Malinowski, father.

The shooting practice happened in the backyard of David Beamer's house in Gilbertsville. Beamer is also facing charges. According to a police affidavit, Beamer called New Hanover Township Police earlier in the day to notify them he'd be firing weapons in the backyard.

The mother who was behind the wheel of the SUV says they should have been at a shooting range. “I want them to pay, I want them to understand what they could’ve done. They could’ve killed an innocent child."
