    Highlights From the AC Airshow

    If you're down the shore this afternoon, you may be looking up. The popular Atlantic City air show is underway-- featuring the US Air Force Thunderbirds.

    What to Know

    • The 16th annual Atlantic City Airshow will last from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    • Wednesday's weather in AC could start off rainy, but is expected to dry up for the afternoon.

    The 16th annual Atlantic City Airshow returns to the shore on Wednesday for a daylong lineup of sky-high thrills.

    On Aug. 22, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., spectators can expect to see dozens of aircraft dipping and dazzling over the beaches of Atlantic City and neighboring cities.

    "Thunder Over the Boardwalk" will feature the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron ("Thunderbirds"), U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, the GEICO Skytypers and Jim Beasley Jr.’s P51D Mustang demonstration.

    The Atlantic City Airshow is one of the biggest free summer events down the shore and continues to attract thousands of viewers over its 16-year history. The Greater Atlantic City Chamber President Joe Kelly said the event has helped drive tourism to the area and showcase some of Atlantic City's amenities to hundreds of thousands of visitors. 

    Here's what you need to know if you're thinking of going:

    WEATHER

    Showers have moved off shore and skies are clearing just in time for the air theatrics, NBC10 First Alert Weather meteorologist Bill Henley said.

    With westerly winds it will be a warm day with the humidity dropping with partly to mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 80s.

    PARKING

    The Borgata will provide complimentary Airshow Park and Ride Service for guests and the public beginning at 10 a.m. from the north entrance of its surface lot. The last shuttle to the beach will be at 1:30 p.m. and the last return shuttle to Borgata will be at 4:30 p.m.

    WHERE TO WATCH

    Atlantic City's free beaches and boardwalk along with ocean-facing hotel rooms and outdoor venues will be great places to view the airshow. Boaters who wish to view the airshow from the ocean are allowed to do so, but there will be a "no boat zone" restricting them from getting too close to the Atlantic City beach. 

    TICKETS

    Viewing the Airshow is free to all spectators, however, there is a variety of ticket packages that can be purchased for VIP seating.
