City Begins Its Return to Normalcy

The NBC10 Weather Team assures us that the worst of the storm has passed and Mayor Nutter made the announcement a little after 10 a.m. that the state of emergency will be lifted in Philadelphia at noon.

That means that Philly and the surrounding areas will begin to return to every day life.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE SEPTA is running service on the Market-Frankford Line, the Broad Street Line and almost trolley lines. Norristown High Speed Line (Rt. 100), and the Media and Sharon Hill trolleys (Rts. 101 and 102) will remain suspended. Most city bus routes are also operating, however, a number are experiencing detours at this time due to road conditions.

Full PATCO service will resume by noon.

The airport will reopen at 4 p.m., although there are no departures scheduled. Officials from the airport ask that travelers not come to airport today. They're mainly open to get ready for Monday.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced Sunday afternoon that casinos will be open on Monday as will the Atlantic City Expressway.

And just in case you've been dying to go shopping, area malls will reopen today at 1 p.m.

All PREIT malls including Cherry Hill, Cumberland, Exton, The Gallery at Market East, Moorestown, Plymouth Meeting, Springfield, Voorhees Town Center and Will Grove Park will be open in just a few hours.

And although most of the city is attempting to return to normal, Mayor Nutter warns that residents should remain in their homes. Flooding is causing major problems on our roadways.
