Three people, including a child and teenager, were injured during a possible street racing accident in Port Richmond Sunday afternoon.
Officials say two vehicles were involved in a crash on Cumberland and Richmond streets around 4:40 p.m. One car crashed into a parked minivan and then into a wall. The other vehicle involved did not stop and left the scene, officials said.
The 20-year-old driver of the car that crashed suffered serious injuries, including a skull fracture. A 15-year-old boy inside the car also suffered serious injuries while an 11-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries. All three people were taken to Hahnemann Hospital.
Police say the 20-year-old driver may have been involved in a street race prior to the crash. They are also testing him for a possible DUI.
