An unmarked van carrying children from a day care crashed in West Philadelphia Friday morning leaving 12 young children hospitalized.
As SkyForce10 hovered over the crash along S 52nd Street near Hazel Avenue around 9:30 a.m. you could see children walking from the crashed van into waiting ambulances.
Medics took 12 children to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia mostly for observation and the driver to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, said Philadelphia Police.
Philadelphia Police accident investigators initially said that it appeared the driver lost the van's breaks before crashing into the apartments..
Expect traffic detours in the area as investigators search for more clues and clear the scene.
