Delaware State Police say they have located the vehicle and driver believed to be involved in a serious hit-and-run crash on Tuesday.
Two female UPS workers had just gotten off a bus at 7:30 a.m. and were heading to work at the UPS warehouse when they were hit on Lake Drive in the Pencader Corporate Center in Glasgow.
Sgt. Paul Shavack says 52-year-old Maria Eldreth, of Wilmington, is in critical condition at Christiana Hospital. The second victim is 67-year-old Judith Johnson, of Newark, who was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
“That could’ve been my mother. It’s anybody’s mother or grandmother and I hope that they would come back and admit what they did,” said Heather Pearce, who works in the center.
Sgt. Shavack described the striking vehicle as black, possibly a Geo Tracker-type SUV with damage to the right front end and possible Maryland plates.
State Police say they are continuing to investigate to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
