At least seven people are injured after a SEPTA train accident.
It happened around 7:45 p.m. Police say a Norristown High Speed Line train was leaving Penfield Station in Haverford Township when two train cars became uncoupled. The rear car struck the front car and the two re-coupled after the collision.
Investigators say six people in one car and one person on the second car were injured. They were all treated at the scene and taken to the hospital. Police have not yet revealed the conditions of the injured passengers.
The uninjured passengers remained on the train and were taken to the Wynnewood Road Station where they were transferred onto shuttle buses.
"We were sitting on the train and my friend and I were having a conversation," said passenger Bryce Adams. "All of a sudden we felt a quick jerk and everybody kind of flew forward."
SEPTA Transit Police are currently investigating the accident. The Norristown High Speed Line is still running though passengers will be shuttle bussed between the 69th Street Station and Bryn Mawr.
