Police tell NBC10 the boy ran out to protect his 2-year-old brother

A bullet grazed the leg of an 11-year-old boy late Friday night in North Philadelphia. Police were called to the intersection of 11th and Norris Streets just before 11:00 p.m.

Police tell NBC10 the 11-year-old boy ran out to protect his 2-year-old brother from getting hit when bullets started to fly inside an apartment courtyard.

The 2-year-old wasn't hurt. His big brother was taken to St. Christophers Hospital, where he's listed in stable condition.

Police are searching for two gunmen and hope surveillance cameras in the area will help find them.
