Bullet Shot Through Man's Thigh Hits Toddler

Gunfire erupted during an afternoon game of street football Saturday. And one bullet injured two—a 42-year-old man and 3-year-old boy.

The shooting happened at Rockland and Camac Streets in the Logan section of the city when three men, at least one of them armed, wanted gold.

They tried to grab a necklace from one of the victims, Paul Chan.  He fought back and was shot in the leg, according to Chief inspector Scott Small.

The bullet went through Chan’s thigh hitting the toddler in the foot, investigators said.

Both victims were taken to Einstein Medical Hospital.

The suspects fled in a minivan, but ditched the getaway van at 13th and Wingohocking, about four blocks away from the scene, Small said.

Police hope to lift evidence from the minivan that will lead them to the suspects.

Meantime, police have a warning for robbery victims.

“Anytime you're being robbed, you should comply. Give up the valuable property. That way, you won't get hurt,” Small said.
