19-Year-Old Arrested for Burglary: Cops

Police say Caleb Mumper, 19, of Horsham, tried to burglarize several homes in Warminster Township.

A 19-year-old man is in custody after police say he tried to burglarize several homes in Warminster Township.

On Thursday, around 11:15 a.m., Warminster Township Police responded to the 200 block of Valley Road to investigate a report of a suspicious male knocking on doors in the neighborhood.

Local residents told police the man was knocking on doors then going to the back of the homes. The man, who police identified as Caleb Mumper, 19, of Horsham, was confronted by the residents and claimed he was looking for an unknown person, according to investigators.

Police say they found Mumper walking from the front of a home. He was arrested for trespassing after police say he was unable to explain why he was in the neighborhood.

During an interview, Mumper allegedly admitted he was looking for homes without cars in the driveway and no one present to burglarize. Investigators say he would knock on the front door of the homes to make sure no one was there. Police also say Mumper stole cash from a home on the 200 block of Valley Road back on April 19. Mumper also allegedly stole jewelry from a home on the 1500 block of Windmill Road back on March 29. Both burglaries took place during the day when no one was home, according to investigators.

Mumper is charged with burglary, theft, criminal trespass and other related offenses. He was arraigned and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility after failing to post $100,000 10% bail. A court date has not yet been set.
