The Bar — Where Ideas Are Born

Bloggers in Philly unite -- the latest Bloblive is coming to a bar near you bringing open mic nights where entrepreneurs or joe-schmos can share and expand ideas with an audience.

Bloblive, held by Ideablob.com, can be the platform where your bright idea becomes reality.

Here's how it works.

Small business owners in the making, muster up the courage to take the stage and spit out job ideas in hopes that audience members can offer their expertise.

Not only does the audience weigh in, but folks online can put in their two cents as well. Web comments are posted through Twitter and projected onto their wall for the brave entrepreneurs to see.

A little advice from strangers is more honest then a biased mother’s opinion, according to Ideablog president Ami Kassar.

But don’t worry, you probably won’t be booed or heckled. The events are more like a supportive sharing of ideas than anything else.

Normally about 75 people attend each event and several mic-nights are held each month around the area.

First time “Blobbers” are welcome for free, after that, the cost is $10 for each individual session and 20 bucks for a month full of entrepreneurial events and advice.

The company offers a great monthly incentive to those with ideas. You can even win $10,000 if your idea is publicly voted as the best idea posted.

We know you’re dying to know when the next one is. Well, get your act together for Tuesday, June 9 at 7 p.m. and June 23 at  7:30 p.m. at Rembrandt’s Restaurant and Bar  (741 North 23rd St. in Fairmount). Food will be served and heck it's a bar -- maybe some liquid courage will calm those nerves.
