There aren’t many things that make ESPN’s heart flutter more than Tim Tebow. The national sports media giant will no doubt make quite a big deal over reports that the Eagles will be signing the quarterback to a one-year contract. The only way this would be bigger news for ESPN is if Tebow signed on the dotted line while watching a Yankees-Red Sox game with LeBron James.
But ESPN.com did find one person not caught up in the hoopla — Modell’s Sports Goods CEO Mitch Modell, who said he doesn’t expect to stock up on Tebow Eagles jerseys.
"We’re not going to have a lot of Tebow jerseys," Modell, who has 25 Modell’s Sporting Goods stores in the Philadelphia area, said Sunday night when informed that Tebow will be in another version of green and white.
