Gunman Knocks on Door of Toys R Us, Opens Fire After Employee Doesn't Let Him in

A gunman dressed in all black fired a shot at a Philadelphia Toys R Us store early Monday morning during an attempted burglary.

The man approached the toy store at Aramingo Avenue and E Ontario Street in the city’s Port Richmond neighborhood around 6:30 a.m. knocked on the door and displayed a gun, according to Philadelphia Police.

A woman working in the store wouldn’t let the man in so he fired into the glass door of the store, police said.

No one was hurt.

The shooting left visible damage to the glass door of the store. Police said the gunman fled the scene.

The store gave no comment when asked if it would open Monday morning.
