School Bus Overturns Along Roosevelt Boulevard

No kids were on board at the time of the crash

A school bus crashed and overturned Monday morning around 7 along the Roosevelt Boulevard near Broad Street in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia.

The bus appeared to have rolled over along the Broad Street exit ramp for Route 1.

Two adults, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 20s, were injured and taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to Philadelphia firefighters.

A third man -- a bus attendant -- was on the All City Transport bus at the time of the crash but wasn't injured.

"It was scary, really scary," said passenger Jeremiah Guest.

There were no children on the bus.

Guest, who wasn't injured, tells NBC10 that the bus was on its way to pick up students in Northeast Philadelphia when it was cut off by another vehicle.

Two adults were hurt in the school bus crash along the Roosevelt Boulevard (Route 1).

"I felt the bus turn and tip over -- I just went against the window and the other attendant fell on me," Guest said. "We then walked out the back of the bus."

The cause of the crash was under investigation. Police say they were looking at surveillance video from inside the bus to see if it reveals any possible reasons for the wreck.

The Broad Street off-ramp was closed causing traffic to slow on the northbound side of Route 1.

It took nearly two hours to clear the crash. The off-ramp reopened around 8:55 a.m., according to PennDOT.
