While shopping for all of the iPods, Xboxes, sweaters, jewelry and perfume for your loved ones this holiday season, take a moment on your trip through the mall to help a local child stay warm this winter by giving a new pair of pajamas to Operation PJ Pileup.
Created by a partnership between Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT), its 39 malls, and the Pajama Program, Operation PJ Pile Up is looking to collect and distribute 25,000 new pajamas and 2,500 new books for toddlers through teens.
In the Delaware Valley alone, 1,600 children are living in foster care and almost 500,000 live below the poverty line. Operation PJ Pile Up has taken up the simple but worthy task of giving these children a warm pair of pajamas and a book to read this Christmas.
To participate in Operation PJ Pile Up, shoppers will see prominently displayed collection bins at their local malls from now until Dec. 31. Below are the Philadelphia-area malls where you can make a donation:
· Cherry Hill Mall
· Exton Square Mall
· The Gallery at Market East
· Voorhees Town Center
· Moorestown Mall
· Plymouth Meeting Mall
· Springfield Mall
· Willow Grove Park
