Target's Next Big Designer: Jason Wu

We've been hearing rumors of a possible collaboration since last fall, but Target has finally confirmed that Jason Wu will, in fact, join the megabrand's list of high-profile International design collaborators.

WWD reports that Wu's line is expected to be first up after the wildly popular Missoni label (which was expected to sell for six to eight weeks, but sold out in a single day) and
Target's own Twitter account reveals the launch date to be February 5, 2012.

"It was very interesting for me to translate my signature touches into a more affordable collection without compromising quality, design, and sophistication," Wu told WWD. "My collection for Target features clothes and accessories that are easily convertible from day to evening — sophisticated, feminine dresses, mix-and-match separates and playful accessories all with a bit of charm and dressed-up attitude."
