Schulson Adding Dim Sum at Sampan

Chef Michael Schulson is launching a Dim Sum brunch at his center city Pan-Asian restaurant Sampan for the spring. Taking place every Saturday from 11 A.M. until 4 P.M., and Sunday from 11 A.M. until close, the team at Sampan will be offering small plates at just $6 each, and will be delivered via the signature Dim Sum cart.

Some of the featured items on the new menu are Corned Beef Char Sui Bun, General Tso Soup Dumplings, Pork Bao Buns, Shrimp and Scallop Shu Mai, Chicken Feet, and Steamed Ribs.

“The new menu offers more than 10 authentic dim sum dishes,” says Chef Schulson. “We even had a special wooden dim sum cart custom-built for us that servers will roll through the restaurant during brunch hours.”

For those who aren't into the Asian-inspired dishes, Schulson will also have more traditional offerings like Steak and Eggs, a filet, sunny-side up and fries, and a play on Eggs Benedict with Berkshire pork belly, spinach, and sriracha hollandaise. While we lament the long lines for which brunch in Philly has become infamous, we're going to get in on this one early, and we suggest you do the same. [The Feast]
