BEERS AT THE BENEFIT: Get loaded for a good cause when you head down to Cavanaugh’s River Deck for the CBC’s 11th Annual Caribbean Sunsplash Party. The CBC, a non-profit organization, provides resources for children and their families who are facing cancer, leukemia and serious blood disorders in the area. TIGHT JEANS AND THE HIPSTER SCENE: Get your indie film scene on with the opening of the 2nd Annual Philadelphia Independent Film Festival (PIFF). With 194 films be screened all over the city this weekend, there is sure to be one that you’ll enjoy. Go to the PIFF Web site for a listing of all the films, dates and screening locations. Tickets can be bought at North Bowl in Northern Liberties through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., on Saturday from noon until 10 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.

AND THE CASH CAB ROLLS ON: You’ve seen him drive a cab all over the Big Apple, now see the host of Discovery Channel’s “Cash Cab,” Ben Bailey, in person at Helium Comedy Club. Bailey won’t be giving out any Red Light Challenges, but he will give out plenty of laughs. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15.
