Missoni Coming to Target in the Fall

In a major coup, Target has struck a deal with Italian powerhouse brand Missoni for 400+ products, due in Target stores nationwide this fall.

Announced by the mega chain via Twiitter and Facebook this morning, the items are expected to drop September 13; a nice welcome home from summer vacation. The collection is the company's largest collaboration to date, and will include women's, men's, and children's clothing, bed linens, and tableware, all in Missoni's signature zigzags and blown-out florals.

Vogue.com quotes Angela Missoni on the venture: β€œIt’s been a fantastic experience; one we are eager to share with families across the United States.”

The frenzy may just deflect some of the attention from the mixed reviews of the company's much anticipated collaboration with Calypso St. Barth which dropped on Sunday, which has been criticized as too mature by rabid younger fans of the chain's past designer collabs.

We'll be interested to see how Missoni translates. Our bet is that while housewares should work beautifully, attempts to re-create the iconic knits could be tricky.
