Mayor Michael Nutter will bring the holiday spirit to the city today starting at 5 p.m., when he lights a Christmas tree at City Hall and then moves to LOVE Park to light the second tree.
Two 30-feet spruce Christmas trees will make City Hall and LOVE Park even merrier this season. Decorated with recycled ornaments that were created by students from several schools in the area, these trees are a holiday sight to behold.
The Mayor will be accompanied by Miss Philadelphia Ryann Richardson and several city officials. Oh, and if you see a tree walking around -- that’s Twinkle -- Philadelphia’s Christmas mascot.
And what would Christmas be without the right music? Several choirs and the youth orchestra, Bravo Brass, will be belting out your holiday favorites like “O Christmas Tree” and “Sleigh Ride."
So, if you want to enjoy Christmas three weeks before it actually arrives, then grab the kids or a friend head to City Hall.
