Gunman Shoots Man 9 Times Then Kills Self, Authorities Say

An investigation is underway after a gunman shot a man then himself inside a home in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

The shooting occurred inside a home on the 3300 block of North Howard Street at 4:44 p.m. Wednesday. Police say Jorge Vasquez, 47, shot Walter Scott Roseboro, 32, eight times in the chest and once in the head. Vasquez then shot himself once in the head, according to investigators. 

Police responded to the home after the shooting was reported. Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:53 p.m. Roseboro was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:12 p.m.

Neighbors said they heard arguing in the home before several gunshots were fired. A preliminary investigation indicates the motive behind the murder-suicide was an argument, according to police.
