An eastern Pennsylvania judge whether to grant a new trial to a woman sentenced to life in prison for fatally stabbing her fiance on their wedding day.
Na Cola Franklin was convicted of first-degree murder in the August death of 36-year-old Billy Brewster after an argument at their Whitehall Township apartment hours before their August 2012 wedding.
The Express-Times said Franklin was tearful at Tuesday's hearing.
At her sentencing last May, Franklin said she didn't mean to kill Brewster.
Defense attorney John Waldron said that should mean a conviction for third-degree murder or manslaughter. He says his client should get a new trial.
