Matyson, a Rittenhouse Square BYO, doesn’t participate in Restaurant Week—but it’s known in foodie circles for the interesting deals it offers during Center City’s biannual celebration.
This week, Matyson’s jumping on a popular 2009 bandwagon by offering its tasting menu at so-called “Recession” prices. $35 will get you:
Grilled cheese and tomato soup with manchego and saffrom
Tuna salad of confit tuna, bitter greens, crsipy olives, blood orange vinaigrette
Spaghetti and meatballs with squash, beef and mushroom meatballs, brussel sprouts and parmesan froth
Cassoulet, a crispy duck confit of duck sausage, white beans, port and dried cherries
Ice cream sandwich with mint chocolate chip ice cream.
