Foster’s Homewear (399 Market St.) is hosting an art exhibit of a different flavor
"SEAR: Philadelphia Chefs in Motion" is a collection of photographs taken of Philly’s top chefs doing what they do best—searing, grilling, cooking and preparing food. Restaurants featured range from James to Cochon to Bistro 7 and beyond.
Though the photographs look as though they’ve been manipulated—a shot taken at Good Dog shows a chef working over an open flame, an immediate feeling of movement overtakes the viewer—none has been digitally altered. Instead, all were taken with a vintage Russian toy camera, which is the reason for the effects.
Foster’s hosts an opening exception for the exhibit Friday March 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and in addition to getting the first peak at the exhibit, attendees can sample goodies cooked up by David Ansill (from Queen Village’s Ansill restaurant). He’ll also host a culinary demo.
Proceeds from the $25 entry will be donated to Philabundance.
