4 Men, a Car, Drugs and Guns

Fate brought together a New Castle County Police officer and a vehicle packed with 4 men, two loaded guns, marijuana and a bulletproof vest.

While staked out along Route 9 near West Avenue, Officer Trevor Riccobon stopped a car for a traffic violation Friday night.

We pretty much all know the drill-- license, registration and proof of insurance, yadda, yadda.

But, the plot ensues.

A background check on the driver and the other 3 passengers turned into an arrest. Three of the men, including the driver, were already wanted for different criminal offenses.

Before having the car towed, Officers took a look inside and unlocked two loaded caliber handguns, one body armor bulletproof vest, 6.3 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $426 in suspected drug currency.

In this case, all 4 men, David Brown Sr., David Brown Jr., Phillip Lockett and Michael Brown (the driver), were charged with possession with the intent to deliver marijuana, two counts of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia.
