11/23: Drinks, Music and a Movie

Heavy Trash: Punk, blues, rock and country will be combined tonight at Kung Fu Necktie. See performances by Heavy Trash featuring Jon Spencer. Originally from New York, Heavy Trash broke on the music scene about ten years ago and they’ve gained quite a following around the globe. Their sound is unique and you're guaranteed an interesting show. Break out of the norm for a concert on a Monday night (a little punk blues never hurt anyone). Kung Fu Necktie, 1250 North Front Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19122, $8 to $10, 8 p.m.

Bruno: If you missed it this summer, see Bruno tonight at The Troc. Starring Sacha Baron Cohen as a fictional Austrian fashion reporter, this mockumentary film pokes fun at almost everything -- nothing is off limits. Get there early for a free beer and popcorn. Everyone needs a good laugh, so why not tonight? The show stars at 8 p.m. Trocadero Theatre, 1003 Arch Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19107, +21, $3, 8 p.m.

Monday Madness: After a long day at the office, we all know a cold beer is the best thing to relax. Sip on $2 Bud Light drafts, $3 Three Olive drinks and $5 Bud Light pitchers at Drinker's Pub. Drinker’s also has plenty of food specials. For dinner or a snack, try their $1 tacos or $1 dogs. As always, Drinker’s has specials on shots (like car bombs), Miller Lite and Heineken. Round up your co-workers for the perfect after-work treat. Drinker’s Pub, 1903 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19103, +21, Free, 7 p.m.
