Tracking the First Heat Wave of Summer

The summer season officially began at 12:38 Father's Day afternoon. And, the weather certainly felt like summer Sunday as we experienced what likely will be the first day in the first heat wave of summer.

After the remnants of Bill moved over the Atlantic and the clouds cleared, temperatures warmed to 91 in Philadelphia -- thankfully a westerly breeze made things more comfortable.

More 90s lie ahead. Get ready for another hot day Monday -- although we won’t be as humid as Sunday -- as temps to out in the low 90s once again.

Tuesday will be the day to watch as temperatures soar to the mid-90s in Philadelphia. Add in the high humidity and it will feel more like 100 degrees.

With three straight days of highs in the 90s, the heat up will become a heat wave but it likely won't last long.

A cold front arrives later Tuesday bringing the potential for gusty thunderstorms before more comfortable air arrives Wednesday.
