NJ Transit trains on a line that connects Trenton and Penn Station in Manhattan were delayed by as much as 1 hour for parts of Tuesday morning because of signal problems, officials say.

Amtrak reported the signal problems on the Northeast Corridor line were reported at about 6 a.m., according to NJ Transit. Delays peaked at about an hour, but trains were back on schedule by about 10 a.m.

The New York City office of emergency management alerted commuters to delays in both directions at Penn Station because of power issues just before 8 a.m.

The delays come less than a day after overhead wire issues caused massive delays for Amtrak and NJ Transit customers leaving Penn Station in New York City.
