Garbage Truck Takes Out Utility Pole in Northeast Philadelphia

    A garbage truck crashed into a utility pole on Knights Road, causing a small fire. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze. (Published Monday, June 8, 2015)

    A trash truck took out a utility pole along a Northeast Philadelphia road Monday morning.

    The incident along Knights Road near Dorchester Road started a small fire and left wires on the roadway, said firefighters.

    Luckily no one was hurt and the fire was quickly put out.

    Despite the lines going down, PECO said no outages occurred in the area.
