2/5: Broadway, Bravery and a Bold Sound

Becky Shaw: Smash hit Off-Broadway show, Becky Shaw is playing tonight at the Wilma Theatre. A quirky comedy about the errors in love and romance, creator Gina Gionfriddo (After Ashley and writer/producer from Law & Order,) is thrilled about her latest masterpiece. The “action architect” defies gravity and as she leaves audiences speechless and craving more. Her team participates in a variety of stunts not for the faint of heart to understand. Nneka: Singer-songwriter Nneka is live tonight at World Café. The Nigerian hip-hop singer has been compared to Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu based on the soul sound that radiates through her body. Nneka began her career overseas, but has hit the states with style this year and hit song “Heartbeat.” Her lyrics are filled with global issues and she has a strong fan base,  now it’s your turn to see this rising star tonight.
