Jillian Mele joined NBC10 in 2007. Her traffic updates can currently be seen on NBC10 News Today, airing weekdays from 4 to 7am.
A native of Glenside, Pennsylvania, Mele came to NBC10 from Binghamton, New York where she was co-anchor of the evening news for New York's Southern Tier at WIVT/WBGH. While there, she covered the area’s devastating 2007 floods. During the storms, local TV stations were a vital source of news and weather updates, and it was then that Mele realized the impact her work could have on the community.
Before her time in upstate New York, Mele worked as a weekend sports anchor/weekday news reporter in Presque Isle, Maine. A diehard Philly sports fan, she got her start in broadcast television during her internship at Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia.
Mele holds a degree in Communications from LaSalle University and currently serves on the board of Philadelphia’s Equality Forum. She lives in the Philadelphia area.
