Jillian Mele joined NBC10 in 2007. She can currently be seen reporting traffic on NBC10 News Today (weekdays 4:30-7am).
The Glenside, Montgomery County native came to NBC from Binghamton, New York where she started as the morning news anchor at WIVT/WBGH-TV, but was quickly promoted to co-anchor the evening news for New York's Southern Tier. While in Binghamton, she had the opportunity to cover the devastating floods of June 2007. During the storms, Mele realized the impact her work could have on a community. The stations were relied upon for constant news updates and to share the homeowners’ most tragic stories.
Before traveling to the snowy hills of upstate New York, she worked as a weekend sports anchor/weekday news reporter in Presque Isle, Maine. A diehard Philly sports fan, Jillian got her start in broadcast television during her internship at Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia. Mele is a graduate of La Salle University where she earned her degree in Communications.
Jillian's motto has always been "when you turn on the TV, you invite me into your home." That's why she strives to succeed in giving the best and most accurate information in a way that is both passionate and understanding.
