NBA Notes: Pau Gasol Reportedly Agrees to 2-year Deal With Spurs

A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that the San Antonio Spurs have agreed to terms with veteran forward Pau Gasol on a two-year deal worth $30 million.

Gasol and the Spurs quickly agreed to a deal Monday, not long after Kevin Durant chose the Golden State Warriors over the Spurs and other teams in free agency. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract cannot be signed until Thursday.

The Spurs will have to make some roster moves to accommodate Gasol's salary. That could include trading veteran forward Boris Diaw to get the cap space to add Gasol to a frontcourt that already includes LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard.

Gasol played for Chicago the last two years.

Yahoo Sports first reported the agreement (see full story).

MAVERICKS: Team reportedly agrees to trade for Bogut
DALLAS -- A person with knowledge of the deal says the Dallas Mavericks have agreed to acquire center Andrew Bogut from Golden State, which is clearing salary cap room after winning the Kevin Durant sweepstakes.

Other details of the trade are still being worked out, the person told The Associated Press on Monday on condition of anonymity because the deal hasn't been finalized and can't be official until league business resumes Thursday.

The person also said the Mavericks are confident they will sign restricted free agent Harrison Barnes of Golden State. After getting a commitment from Durant, the Warriors aren't expected to match Dallas' planned four-year, $95 million offer sheet.

The additions of Barnes and Bogut also mean Dirk Nowitzki is all but certain to return for a 19th season in Dallas (see full story)

HEAT: Team reportedly offers Wade bigger deal to stay
MIAMI -- A person with knowledge of the situation says Dwyane Wade has been offered a two-year, $40 million deal to remain with the Miami Heat.

The person says the second year would be at Wade's option. The person spoke to The Associated Press Monday on condition of anonymity because talks are going. The contract, if accepted, would essentially match the career-best $20 million salary Wade made this past season.

This is the second consecutive summer in which Wade and the Heat have gone through bumpy contract talks. Wade has spent all 13 of his NBA seasons in Miami and has repeatedly said he wants to spend his entire career with the club.

Wade averaged 19.0 points and 4.6 assists this past season, and was an All-Star selection for the 12th time (see full story).
