ASHBURN, Va. — Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman and tight end Jordan Reed have been cleared to fly with the team to London for its game against the Cincinnati Bengals after dealing with concussions.
Redskins coach Jay Gruden says Thursday it's still not been determined whether either Norman or Reed — two of Washington's most vital players — will be able to play on Sunday.
The team was to make the trip later Thursday and practice in London for the first time on Friday.
Norman was hurt when he hit his helmet on the turf during Washington's 20-17 loss at Detroit on Sunday. Reed has missed the past two games after getting a concussion against Baltimore on Oct. 9. Both practiced Thursday.
Running back Matt Jones missed a second consecutive day of practice because of what Gruden said was an injured knee.
Broncos: C.J. Anderson to have knee surgery
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that Broncos running back C.J. Anderson will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Thursday and that the extent of the damage will determine how long he's out.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the team hasn't addressed specifics of Anderson's knee injury while awaiting medical reports.
Earlier Thursday, Anderson disputed a report that he had told people close to him that he was done for the season.
Anderson was injured on an 11-yard run Monday night against Houston but returned to the game and ran 14 more times for 84 yards and a TD, finishing with 107 yards in his best performance of the season.
Bills: Aaron Williams mulling NFL future
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The father of Buffalo Bills safety Aaron Williams tells The Associated Press his son intends to wait until the offseason to determine whether to continue playing after sustaining his latest neck injury.
Anthony Williams told the AP by phone Thursday that while the topic of retirement has yet to be broached, he intends to involve his entire family in a discussion to "make the best decision that's right for him."
Williams spoke after his son was blindsided and bowled over by a hit from Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry in a 28-25 loss at Miami on Sunday. Williams was taken to the hospital for evaluation, but cleared to travel home with the team.
It's the second consecutive season Williams has been sidelined by a severe neck injury. Coach Rex Ryan on Thursday said Williams is out indefinitely.
Cornerback Stephon Gilmore told the AP that Williams is experiencing numbness in one of his arms. Anthony Williams and the team would not confirm what Gilmore said.
Jets: Center Nick Mangold likely out Sunday
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — New York Jets center Nick Mangold appears unlikely to play Sunday at Cleveland because of a sprained right ankle that has him in a walking boot.
Mangold was injured early in the first quarter against Baltimore last Sunday and replaced by Wesley Johnson. Coach Todd Bowles says Thursday that "it doesn't look good right now" for Mangold's chances because he hasn't run yet. Bowles adds that he'll "hold out another day or so" before declaring him out against the Browns.
Rookie linebacker Darron Lee will miss his second straight game with a sprained ankle. Offensive lineman Brent Qvale (neck) and linebacker Bruce Carter (quadriceps) have also been ruled out.
Running back Matt Forte (knee) sat out practice because the Jets wanted to keep him off the turf during the indoor session, but Bowles says he'll play Sunday.
Raiders: Aldon Smith applies for reinstatement
ALAMEDA, Calif. — Oakland Raiders pass rusher Aldon Smith has applied to the NFL to be reinstated from his one-year suspension.
A person with knowledge of the application tells The Associated Press that Smith has asked Commissioner Roger Goodell to be allowed back on the field once his ban for violating the league's substance-abuse policy ends on Nov. 17. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Thursday because the league hasn't made the application public. The San Francisco Chronicle first reported the move.
Smith was suspended for one year last November for violating the substance-abuse policy. That stemmed from an arrest in August on charges of drunken driving, hit and run and vandalism, which led to his release by the San Francisco 49ers.
Smith signed with Oakland last September and played nine games before being suspended for a second time by the NFL.
