Phillies Manager Charlie Manuel has let the cat, make that the dog, out of the bag -- Ryan "Mad Dog" Madson will be on the mound for the Phils when they restart World Series Game 5.

Manuel has opted for Madson to take the mound to start the seventh inning, according NBC 10's John Clark and Vai Sikahema.

Madson seems like a logical choice because he can go more than one inning against the Rays if needed.

Madson will be taking the mound for Cole Hamels who will be pulled for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the sixth inning when play resumes.

In the playoffs "Mad Dog" has put up great numbers -- in 10 games he has posted a scant 1.50 ERA with 11 strikeouts over 12 innings.
