The end is nigh for the Philadelphia Spectrum but the end is now for the hallowed arena floor that saw so many great basketball moments.

Starting Wednesday morning crews will begin to cut up the wooden surface that saw a Sixers' championship in 1983, Christian Laettner’s buzzer beater in 1992 and dozens of hilarious Harlem Globetrotters games.

The soon-to-be-defunct court is getting cut up into 3x5-inch and 10x10-inch pieces that will be mounted in commemorative frames, according to Comcast-Spectacor.

Fans can buy those framed mementos so that can always hang onto a piece of the Spectrum. If you're feeling nostalgic go to RememberTheSpectrum.com to register for a piece of history.

The big sale is still to come, though. The plan is to sell off the seats, hockey boards, glass and other souvenirs from the legendary arena once the Spectrum is officially closed, Comcast-Spectacor said.

Will they also sell the bricks? Time will tell.
