Scottie Reynolds Stays Put at Nova

One-time Big East Rookie of the Year, Scottie Reynolds will return to Villanova next season, CSNPhilly.com reported. Reynolds, a 6-foot-2-inch point guard, decided to pull his name out of the NBA Draft to finish up his college career and possibly play for a National Championship.
Reynolds averaged 15.2 points per game last season as a junior. He led Villanova to the Final Four for the first time since 1985 after hitting a last second lay-up against cross-state foe Pitt.
“The best decision for me is to return to Villanova for my senior year, Reynolds said.
“I'm blessed to be in the situation I am in. I'm happy to be back at Villanova,” he added.
Reynolds worked out with seven different NBA teams, but because he didn’t hire an agent he was able to withdraw from the draft, ESPN reported.
“Scottie took a very mature and intelligent approach to this process. He prepared himself thoroughly for each workout and absorbed everything he could from them. This was a tremendous learning experience for him and now he is focused on becoming a great senior leader in our program. He has great respect for the tradition here and I know he’ll embrace this role,” Villanova head coach Jay Wright said according to CSNPhilly.com
A recruiting class including a pair of McDonald's All-Americans in guards Dominic Cheek and Maalik Wayns had to also tempt Reynolds back to Nova.
Reynolds has scored 1,620 points in his first three seasons for the Wildcats.
