Pedro Martinez finally got to pitch a game at home where the it didn't rain on his parade and he dazzled in a battle of former Cy-Young winners.
Martinez, a three-time Cy-Young Award winner, tossed seven impressive innings to outpitch 2008 National League Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum and the Phillies beat the San Francisco Giants 2-1 on Thursday night.
Slugger Ryan Howard kept hot at the plate. He doubled in the tie-breaking run in the sixth.
Martinez (3-0) struck out a season-high nine in his fifth start since signing with the Phillies during the All-Star break, allowing one run and five hits. He didn't walk a batter and threw just 87 pitches in his longest outing since last Aug. 21 with the New York Mets.
Jayson Werth joined Howard in the 30-homer club when he went yard in the second.
Lincecum dropped to 13-5 despite striking out 11 in seven innings.
The NL East-leading Phils are 16-6 since getting swept by Florida at home last month.
